Our team of highly skilled and experienced Surgical Oncologists are at the forefront of this complex and ever-evolving field, dedicated to utilizing advanced Surgical Techniques to diagnose, treat, and prevent cancer.

Our Surgical Oncologists are trained to perform different types of Surgeries depending on the Type, Location, and Stage of Cancer. Their goals include confirming the diagnosis and stage by taking Biopsies or removing Tumours, removing primary Tumours and affected Lymph Nodes or Organs, reducing Cancer risk with preventive Surgery, enhancing treatment effectiveness with supportive Surgery, restoring body function/appearance after Surgery, and Alleviating Cancer-related Pain with Palliative Surgery. Our Surgeons utilize techniques such as open, Minimally Invasive, or Robotic Surgery. We emphasize teamwork among various experts including Medical Oncologists, Radiation Oncologists, Pathologists, Radiologists, Nurses, and others to provide comprehensive care to our patients.

At Sharda Care - Healthcity, we offer a range of Surgical Oncology procedures to treat various types of Cancer. Some common procedures we perform include:

  • Colon Surgery: This involves removing part or all of the Colon to treat conditions like Colon Cancer, Diverticulitis, and Inflammatory Bowel disease. We can perform this Surgery through traditional open methods or minimally invasive techniques like Laparoscopic or Robotic-Assisted Surgery.
  • Liver Biopsy: This procedure involves taking a small sample of Liver Tissue for examination under a Microscope. It helps diagnose Liver Conditions such as Liver Cancer, Cirrhosis, and Hepatitis. The Biopsy can be done using a needle inserted through the Skin or during Surgery.
  • Breast Surgery: We offer both Lumpectomy and Mastectomy procedures to treat Breast Cancer. Lumpectomy removes the Tumour and a small margin of surrounding Tissue, while mastectomy removes one or both Breasts. Our goal is to preserve as much Breast Tissue as possible while effectively treating Cancer.
  • Mohs Surgery: This specialized technique is used to treat certain types of Skin Cancer by removing thin layers of Skin and examining them under a microscope until no Cancer Cells are found. Mohs Surgery minimizes damage to healthy Tissue, especially in sensitive areas.
  • Sentinel Node Biopsy: This procedure involves removing and examining the Sentinel Lymph Node(s), which are the first Nodes Cancer Cells are likely to spread to from a Primary Tumour. It helps determine the extent of Cancer spread and guides further treatment decisions.
  • Endoscopic Mucosal Resection (EMR): EMR is a minimally invasive procedure used to remove abnormal Tissue from the digestive tract, including the Esophagus, Stomach, and Colon. It allows for precise treatment while preserving healthy tissue.

While cardiologists diagnose and treat heart issues, heart surgeries are performed by Cardiothoracic or Cardiac Surgeons. However, Interventional Cardiologists do perform minimally invasive procedures.

They specialize in procedures like angioplasty, stenting, catheter-based diagnostics, and treatments that don’t require open-heart surgery.
